Purpose

The Communication Department strives to share accurate, timely, inspirational and meaningful information with the members of the Iowa-Missouri Conference and beyond.  This is accomplished through our publications, videos, website, Facebook and Twitter pages; assistance in creation of communication tools for other departments; equipping local church communication leaders with needed information; and keeping current on conference happenings.  Each church member is a communication representative for the Lord and the work in the Iowa-Missouri Conference.  This department could not function without the personal accounts and photographs of events from church communication leaders, pastors and members.

Avenues

Outlook is a monthly magazine produced by the Mid-America Union which includes a two-page spread each month on Iowa-Missouri news.

Conference Connections is a quarterly newsletter produced by the conference that features news on education,  evangelism, women’s ministries, stewardship, and much more. Conference Connections is mailed to all members of the conference and is available via download from www.imsda.org/publications.

The Communicator is a biweekly newsletter produced by the conference that focuses on current church news, upcoming events and resources. The Communicator is available via e-mail and on www.imsda.org/publications.

Videography was added in 2008 as a creative means to communicate information to members.

A Custom Calendar is produced each year and mailed to all member homes.  Each month features a different picture from around our two great states, along with many pertinent dates.

The website, www.imsda.org, was updated in this last quadrennium to improve the timeliness and ease of access of delivering pertinent information to members.

Facebook and Twitter pages were created to deliver information in a more timely way and to a broader audience.
